April Model of the Month, Angela!

Where are you from?

I'm from Elmont NY, the first town on Long Island. In my late teens I moved to Queens, and I've been here ever since

Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in this career?

Growing up people always told me I should model, and once I finally tried it I realized how much I loved it. There's something special about a brand seeing you and deciding you're the right person to bring their vision to life. In a way, all I'm doing is showing up as myself, and somehow that becomes art. Every shoot is different, yet the energy is always inspiring.

I get to meet people from all walks of life, and even though models and creatives don't technically have coworkers, we've always had a sense of community. The unspoken community we've built is one of my favorite parts of this career. At the end of the day, I just love being part of creating something people are proud of.

Tell us about your education: Did you attend modeling or acting school? Any college degrees?

I didn't attend acting or modeling school. I developed as a model by doing test shoots with friends who were also coming up in the industry. After high school I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to take, so I attended Nassau Community College and earned my Liberal Arts Degree. Later, I graduated from New York City College of Technology with a Bachelors in Entertainment Technology. That degree opened the door for me to work major events like the Tribeca Film Festival, the LA Film Festival, many concerts, and even Super Bowl 48. Because my work in entertainment is gig-based, its given me flexibility to pursue both careers at the same time.

What is one thing you wish you knew when you were younger?

I wish I knew that growth isn't meant to feel graceful. It challenges you and asks you to move through seasons that feel uncomfortable, scary, difficult, and sometimes still. Over time I've learned that self-discipline carries you farther than anything, that consistency is its own quiet power, and that truly believing in yourself is one of the strongest choices you can make.

What brings you the most joy? What makes you smile?

I love the days when life slows down, when I can stay home, sit in silence, and simply be human. The simple joy of catching up with family and friends, moving my body through a workout and sauna session, resting, enjoying a good meal, watching something that pulls me in, and ending the night with a book. Those small moments are where I feel most at peace.

What quote do you live by?

"What you're not changing, you're choosing"

It reminds me that every decision, even the ones we avoid, shapes the life we end up living.
