Where are you from?
I am originally from Northern New Jersey, lived my young adult life in Manhattan and for most of my life have lived in Westchester County, New York
How did you get started in this field?
I was involved in the Miss America Pageant Program for several years. For the talent portion of the competitions I performed Kata (a fighting flow dancing sequence) against imaginary attackers. Being involved in the pageant scene and winning local titles eventually led to getting representation.
I started going on auditions for soap opera work and modeling gigs. In fact, when I started working at NBC News, The David Letterman Show had a talent contest for their employees and I was one out of ten selected to perform live on The David Letterman Show. I still have the performance on tape, it has been a great memory.
Who are some of your favorite icons that have influenced you?
Growing up my favorite icons were Rachel Welch, Ann Margaret and Rita Hayworth. They were all sexy, beautiful, strong and intelligent women
Career Highlights?
When I was attending Sarah Lawrence College I was cast as the lead in Charlotte Corday in The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul which was indeed a highlight! I also worked as a segment producer for NBC News and was a producer and on-camera talent for Bloomberg L.P.
I received my Masters in theatre at SLC later in life and it was an amazing experience! It was a two year full time program where I studied acting, play writing, and directing. I've been producing and performing for most of my life. Now I audition regularly for commercials and still enjoy taking commercial and voice over workshops.
Hobbies?
In the summer I love to row on my lake in my backyard with friends. I'm an avid exercise enthusiast and spin at least 4 or 5 times a week. I'd also love to pick up my guitar again and really learn how to play!
Yoga is another hobby of mine. I recently received my yoga instructor certification and have been teaching yoga semi part time. I love helping woman and men get stronger and more flexible. I also have private clients that come to my in-home studio.
Long Term Goals?
To be a successful commercial, film and stage actress and continue to give back with the volunteer I do with The Open Door Foundation, a family and wellness center for those in need.
