March Model Of The Month, Laura!

We are excited to announce our

March Model of the Month:

Laura!

Where are you from?

From the age of nine till I left for New York after high school I lived in Maryland, very close to DC. Before that my family lived in Chicago and Kuwait. We moved a lot when I was younger and that travel bug really never left me. One of my favorite things about being a model has been the many different cities I've had the pleasure of calling home

How did you get started in this field?

I longed for New York and I simply asked myself how I could make her my home. I did very well in high school and excelled in the sciences but going to college at one of the New York Universities was not an option for me at the time. Funny enough, I was a bit shy and the camera was a terrifying thing but modeling began to give me a confidence that I never knew I could possess

Who are some of your favorite icons that have influenced you?

George Micheal's "Freedom" music video is what truly did it for me! Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Tatjana Patitz were spell bounding. I wanted to own that feeling

Hobbies?

I love building and creating with my son. Legos, story books, designing together, he is truly a blast to have as a playmate! I also love all things biology including the study of insects and aquatic life. Animals hold my heart and spending time with them in any capacity is a joy!

Career Highlights?

I've had the most amazing opportunities traveling the world through modeling. I have walked runway shows in New York, Miami, all over Europe, and Singapore. I have shot many magazine covers and campaigns. A signature moment was when I booked an editorial in Japan and they flew me there for a whole week for one shoot! These kind of calls came often and were very exciting to me

Traveling really was my number one goal and every chance I got to do that was a career highlight. I've worked in multiple cities in the US as well as countries like Switzerland, Paris, Austria, Germany, Canada, Singapore, Japan, and many Caribbean Islands

Some of my clients have been Victoria's Secret, IZOD, Joico, L'Oreal, Cossabella, Sandals, and many high end fashion brands. However the most exciting moments were going to that magazine stand and seeing your face on the cover!

Long term goals?

I have always wanted to become a household name but not just because of physical beauty or skill. Rather, I wanted my character to be my motivator. It's an exciting time to be a model as we are encouraged to use our voice. Women in this field can now speak out and stand for things they believe in! What I am excited about today is encouraging self-esteem and self growth for all women. These are two featured subjects I am always excited to talk about

Growing up as the middle child of three girls, I was the mediator bringing family and feminine together and this is a large aspect of my personality to date. That's the motive that drives every aspect of my self expression
